Spring season has been awesome!

Thank you to all parents, coaches, and players for making this such a great season!

Fall 2010 online soccer registration is open now by clicking the registration button.  Space on boys U-16 and U-18 is limited to the first 18 players that sign up.

Here is a summary of what will be offered for fall 2010:

U-7

No changes. Tues and Thurs evenings from 5:15-6:30.  6 weeks

U-9

No changes. Tues and Thurs evenings from 5:15-6:30.  6 weeks

U-10

No changes.  Boys and girls are split.  Teams stay on the island and play in the WISL league with games on Saturdays.

U-12

CWSC is attempting to encourage the other soccer clubs on the island to also play in WISL.  Still to be decided if these teams travel off island.

U-14

Both boys and girls will play in the North County league so away games are off island.

BU-16

Only one team forming with space limited to the first 18 boys that register.  Plays in North County league so away games off island.  Home games are Wildcat Stadium in Oak Harbor.

BU-18

Only one forming with space limited to the first 18 boys that register.  Plays in North County league so away games off island.  Home games are Wildcat Stadium in Oak Harbor.

Alternative playing option for U-10 and above

CWSC also recognizes that the traditional playing style of youth soccer teams in this country is form a team, have some practices during the week, and play a game on the weekend.  This does not work out for some families and some players so we have an alternative playing choice that is something to be considered.  A player can register within the soccer club and request not to be placed on a specific team.

This is called the unrostered option and it allows that player to attend any practices on any team and also to attend training sessions and other special playing opportunities, but they do not play games on Saturdays.  Most of the teaching in soccer and opportunities to try out new skills take place at practices.  Additionally 30 minutes of scrimmage takes place at every practice which the players really enjoy and all kids play the 30 minutes.  Plus as a parent you get weekends free!  The fee is simply $15 less than the registration fee if a jersey is not ordered.  I believe this is an underutilized option because practices are held every evening of the week during the season and there is always an organized playing option if a weeknight is free and a player wants to play.
